KATHARINE ON “WHY FAMILY LAW”

I began my family law practice after experiencing firsthand the challenge of custody issues within my own family. After seeing what a difference a good attorney can make during such a painful time, I made the decision to change careers so I can help others the way my attorney helped me.

Katharine has successfully combined her legal background and personal experiences with family law issues to build a law practice focused on helping individuals navigate an often confusing, frustrating and complex family law legal system.

Prior to joining the family law team at Purcell Stowell, she worked for a solo practitioner, where she hit the ground running, representing clients at over 60 law and motion hearings regarding nearly every family law issue that can arise. She chose the field of family law because she enjoys connecting with people, resolving complicated problems, and helping people to move forward with their lives.

Prior to her family law practice, she worked in the insurance industry providing legal compliance and consulting services, gaining valuable experience that helps her relate to people from a variety of backgrounds and roles.
